Uganda National U-17 team captain, Andrew Okiring Isiagi trained with the rest of the teammates during the team’s last training session on Friday morning at Lugogo Stadium.
The team skipper, a right back with Carslie school based in the United States of America had missed the team’s previous training after a bout of malaria.
“Andrew (Isiagi)’s timely recovery is a big boost to the morale of the team. We thank God for the recovery although two other players (Luwalo Kipper and Imran Mpaata) are both out due to ankle injuries”, Matia Lule, the team head coach spoke to Kawowo Sports after the one and half hour last training.
Doctors’ report:
The medical team passed the player fit and he actively participated in the session that included some sided games, shooting, dribbling, crosses and penalty kicks practice.
Isiagi ready to lead Cubs:
After the team doctors declared him fit, his determination to practice with the rest of the teammates was eminent.
“Surely i am fit enough, i feel energetic and ready to lead my nation’s progress to the next stage of qualification”, the eloquent player told Kawowo Sports.
Earlier on Thursday, the team had received the news that midfielder, Ashraf Mugume had passed the MRI test, granting him the rights to participate in this under age event.
Uganda leads 2 – 1 coming into the second leg having won the away tie in Victoria City.
Strikers, Pius Obuya and Charles Ssebutinde scored the crucial away goals.
Sehychelles arrived in Uganda on Thursday evening and will train at Lugogo on Friday afternoon.
Should Uganda progress, a date against Rwanda awaits on the Friday 18th July 2014 in Kampala.
The African U-17 Championships will be played in Niger in 2015.
