Mah-de Mivule held onto his nerves to triumph as overall winner at the Kampala Central Nile Special national pool regional qualifiers held on Friday night at the Shade bar along William street in Kampala.
“I am excited to have qualified. I will continue training for the national finals”, he spoke to Kawowo Sports shortly after the finals.
Mivule, who captains Indigo pool club in the national league one overcame a strong field of 31 other players.
He beat Mukasa Lubega 4 – 1 in a one sided final, after having floored crowd favorite Benon Turyamuremba 3 nil in the semi-finals.
The two will be joined by Ivan Kikomeko at the national pool finals at Lugogo.
Kikomeko beat Benon Turyamuremba 3 – 1 in the third place play off.
The shade bar action witnessed 32 participants from Hi table, Top pub, Green Africa, Rock garden, club 5, Two-5, Julius bar and the hosting bar, itself.
32 players participated at these regional finals played before a capacity lively crowd in the bar.
Among those who watched the Shade bar action were players, Fahad Ssewankambo (PAU) seed 1, Amos Ndyagumanawe (seed 8), Nile Special brand manager, Timothy Kayondo and several Pool officials.
The overall winner (Mivule)was rewarded with Ug.shs 150.000 and a gold medal.
The first and second runners up got Ug.shs 100.000 and Ug.shs 50.000 respectively.
Each of the 3 got branded Nile Special certificates of participation.
The national finals will be held at the Lugogo Indoor stadium on 6th September 2014.
The national champion stands to win Ug.shs 2M, pool table, winners’ jacket and a brand new Toyota Brevis.
Central regional action qualifiers resume today (Saturday, 5th July 2014) at the California and Lumas Pubs.
