Uganda’s second opponent in group E of the AFCON qualifiers Guinea began the Morocco campaign with a victory.
The Syli boys beat Togo 2-1 at Stade Mohamed V stadium on Friday in Casablanca, Tunisia.
Seydouba Soumah put the hosts ahead in the 11th minute with a penalty kick before Idrissa Sylla doubled the lead few minutes close to half time.
In the 57th minute, Togo got a consolation goal through Jonathan Ayite, just few minutes before Guinean Issiaga Sylla was shown matching orders.
Guinea team is expected to arrive in Uganda before Monday evening where they will engage the Cranes on Wednesday at Namboole stadium.
In the other games played on Friday, Sudan was defeated 0-3 at home by South Africa while Senegal beat ex-African champions Egypt by 2-0.
