The national netball team is two points away to next year’s world cup to be staged in Canada.
The She Cranes team, which will play Swaziland on Thursday and Namibia on Friday, earned its 3rd consecutive win after defeating Botswana 47-32 today in the on going World Cup Qualifiers in Gaborone city. The gallant ladies had earlier dispatched Zambia and nicked a win against Zimbabwe.
The Peace Proscovia skippered team played a-one sided game at Bona arene after winning all the 4 quarters with wide goal margins.
Uganda won 12-6, 23-13, 35-21 and 47-32 in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters respectively.
“Honestly I did not expect this (loss), its dismal and disappointing to say.” Ethereal Letsholo, a Botswana team supporter told Kawowo Sports shortly after the game. “I expected a good fight, good competitive game but was disappointed with my team.” Letsholo added.
Notably, Jeol Deul, a Zambian sports journalist said, “the game was one sided and Uganda becomes the 1st nation to qualify here because it cant lose to Swaziland and Namibia.”
