Nile Special Cranes Na – Mutima Regional Tours:

Result:

Uganda Cranes 5 – 0 Northern Uganda

Bar the flattening 5 – 0 scoreline, there are several bench marks that the Uganda Cranes team which humiliated the Northern region select team at Pece stadium in Gulu has set.

For starters, it has been awhile since the Cranes scored more than 3 goals in a single fixture with well coordinated inter-play and harmonious team chemistry.

“It is always good we keep the winning culture and playing beautiful football”, Cranes head coach,Micho told the media after the game.

Micho named SC Villa midfielder, Hassan Wasswa the team skipper, starting with on form SC Villa striker, Karim Ndugwa up front alongside William Wadri.

In the game proper, a barren half hour played only saw goalie, Benjamin Ochan’s early substitution the only talking point before he was replaced by URA’s Brian Bwete.

Former U-23 star Karim Ndugwa set the ball rolling in the 36th minute after beating goalie, Emmanuel Rubangakene with a cool finish after William Wadri’s well laid ball.

The passionate cheering from the home crowd was melted down with the strike as they broke down with visibly frustrated gestures.

7 minutes later, KCC striker, William Wadri doubled the national team’s lead with Vipers’ dread locked play maker, Allan Kyambadde the orchestrator.

By the half time break, Uganda Cranes were two up before the head coach, Milutin called for 7 changes.

The changes a complete face than the starters – often inter-passing with ease and creating as many goal scoring opportunities.

Said Kyeyune notched a brace for himself including a penalty when Baker Lukooya’s tempting delivery was handled in the forbidden area.

An own goal in between Kyeyune’s goals from Richard Langoya epitomized the pressure which the second half changes called.

“This is the true beauty of football. Fans have enjoyed the action from the national team because of great playing and the goals scored”, Gulu’s Kennedy Otim, a sports administrator tolf Kawowo Sports.

This Nile Special Cranes Na – Mutima tour is targeted at taking the national team closer to the people as well as keeping the players actively engaged.
