Uganda Premier League (UPL) board has on Tuesday passed a ruling to dock Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) Football Club three points for using a suspended player (Martin Mpuuga) during their 1 all draw against Kira Young F.C.

At the same time, SCVU is fined 300,000/=.

Quoting Article 20 (10) of the FUFA Competitions Rules, a statement from the  league manager, Paul Kabaikaramu indicates ;

A player who is sent off the field of play (send- off) by accumulating two (2) bookings (cautions) during the same league competition match or directly sent off the field of play during a league competition match shall automatically become an ineligible player for the next two (2) physically played matches.

Mpuuga was red carded in SCVU’s 1 all draw to Bright Stars F.C at Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

The statement further consolidates on that background to award Kira Young F.C three points and three goals since the same suspended player was again fielded in his team’s 1 all draw on 23rd December 2014.

The statement adds;

Pursuant to Article 34 (12) of the FUFA Competitions Rules SC Victoria forfeits the above mentioned match in favor of Kira Young FC who are awarded three (3) points and three (3) goals.
SC Victoria is also fined three hundred thousand shillings (300,000/=) for this act and should be paid before their next league fixture.

The decision thus implies Kira Young climbs up the table standings to 9th with 18 points after 15 games as SCVU drops to 13th with 15 points.
