Uganda Premier League side, Lweza Football Club has officially confirmed Hamza Kalanzi as the club’s head coach.
A club statement released by the league debutant team authenticated;
We hereby confirm Hamza Kalanzi as the new head coach for Lweza F.C for a renewable contract of two years depending on performance
Kalanzi was assistant coach to former head tactician, Villai Bianomugisha, who absconded from duty last November following threats from irate club fans.
Bianomugisha, who had worked with Lweza F.C since the FUFA Big League days ceased working for the Entebbe road based club after angry club fans threatened his life and family over suspect team selection that precipitated a string of poor results.
The development follows Kalanzi’s tenure of 4 games as interim coach towards the close of the first round of the 2014/15 season.
Overall, in Kalanzi’s games as head coach, he won and drew one apiece before losing 2 games.
In one of the most shocking results ever recorded under Kalanzi’s management, Lweza defeated defending league champions, KCC at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.
The terms and conditions under which Kalanzi will work including his wages and salaries remain undisclosed.
Lweza F.C commenced the preparations for the second round on a high gear when they signed veteran winger, Dan Wagaluka on a 6 month basis.
Training for the club started on Wednesday with gymnasium sessions.
