Loughborough Lightening 58-44 Dragon Celtics

Ugandan Netball ace, Peace Proscovia master minded a player of the match performance with two thirds of Loughborough Lightening’s goals in their 58-44 victory over the Dragon Celtics on Monday night.

The match, watched by a capacity cheering home crowd, was Loughborough’s first in the opening three games following a 70-44 away loss at Yorkshire Jets and the shocking 48-40 defeat at the hands of Hertfordshire Mavericks.

The victory over Dragon Celtics was head Coach’s Karen Atkinson first since taking over the club.

Loughborough led throughout the four quarters with goal shooter, Peace and South Africa goal attacker, Maryka Holtzhausen  providing most goals.
 
The home team led 15-13 in the opening quarter and by had maintained the lead 29-24 with sharp towering shooter registering 24 of the goals before the towering scoring ace added 13 in the final half.
 
 By the end of the third quarter, Lightening had stretched it to 44-35 before the final whistle placed them at 58-44.
 
Next Game:
 
Loughborough Lightening travels to Northumbria for the next game on Monday, February 16th before hosting the season’s second against Surrey Storm on Saturday, 21st February 2015.
