The Ugandan woodball team of three, Jeff Kayongo, Lillian Zawedde and William Osire is expected in Singapore on Friday (by 3:00 p.m) ahead of the Singapore international open that starts Saturday.

The trio departed Entebbe International Airport aboard Ethiopian Airlines on flight ET 333 for a stop over in Addis Ababa.

From the Ethiopian capital, they connected to another flight, ET 618 to Bangkok from where they are expected to fly to Singapore on flight SQ 977.

The team is led by William Osire as the leader of delegation who believes they have prepared well for the two championships;

We have trained well and we shall not disappoint.

The team of three will take part in the 15th Singapore Open Wood ball Championship scheduled to take place on 1st – August 2nd 2015  and Malaysia Open Wood ball Championship on 4th – 9th August, 2015.

Lillian Zawedde bids farewell to friends and family at the Entebbe Airport departures

Zawedde is an experienced player who has traversed the globe in various championships.

She anticipates the local knowledge of the courses will be an added advantage to her and the teammates.

Jeff Kayongo, a primary six pupil at Entebbe Junior School noted;

I feel good that I’m going to represent Uganda. I have been practicing regularly and I hope I’ll return the best results
