The Uganda Rugby Cranes sevens team finished Shield cup runners-up following their loss to 14-10 loss to Zambia on Sunday.
Cranes bowed out of the tournament with only one win, a 00-55 thrashing that had Burundi on the razor in the shield semi finals.
Uganda opened with a 24-10 loss to Zimbabwe who are just returning to the showpiece. Herbert Wafula’s charges then lost to Samurai and Kenya Morans 33-00 and 34-00.
Burundi who were next in line should not have wished to play the Kampala based side as the side suffered a humiliation. Samurai clinched the title off a 20-19 win over Shujaa in the final played at the Safaricom stadium in Kasarani.
