Former Brazilian and FC Barcelona defender Juliano Belletti will be part of the team of the Barcelona Legends that will play against the Uganda Cranes select team next month at Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Belleti’s participation in the match has been confirmed on Thursday.
Belleti played for Barcelona from 2004 to 2007. He won 2 League titles (2005 and 2006) and the 2005/06 Champions League after coming off the bench to score the winner against Arsenal.
The Brazilian defender also played for Villarreal and Chelsea.
Belleti joins a host of former Barcelona players Patrick Kluivert, Carles Puyol, Gianluca Zambrota, Deco, Gaizka Mendieta, Edgar Davids, Luis Garcia and Rayco Garcia who have already confirmed their participation in the match.
The former Barcelona stars are expected to start arriving by December 8 for the match is intended to raise funds towards the establishment of a Sports Academy in Uganda under the Rayco Garcia foundation.
Uganda’s team will be skippered by former Cranes and Kaizer Chiefs star David Obua with URA’s Simeon Masaba as well as Tonny Mawejje some of the confirmed players while KCCA FC’s Mike Mutebi will be the coach.
