Nkumba University 0-2 Makerere University

Kampala University are officially the 2013 University Football League Champions. Failure for a 10 man Nkumba University side to win at home, following their dismissal 0-2 loss to a determined Makerere University meant that regardless of the outcome from MUST-Kampala University fixture (ended 1-3 in favour of KU), the Ggaba based institution earn their maiden trophy.

 Makerere University’s David Ndihabwe recorded a brace in Entebbe to extinguish even the little mathematical beam of hope for Nkumba University who lost goalie, Ronald Mutebi to a red card.

The final day results mean that Kampala University finishes on 35 points, 4 points ahead of second placed Nkumba university, MUBS is  3rd lagging behinnd on a distant 26 points, Makerere University (22), Ndejje University (16), Mbarara University of Science and Technology (7th on just 5 points) while Uganda Martyr’s University, Nkozi tails the 8 team log on a meagre 3 points.

The league that was played in two phases has been organized by Red Rhino Sports, and proudly funded by Rwenzori Mineral Water, Nile Special, Air Uganda, Hard ware World among others.
