CECAFA Challenge Cup 2016: Burundi names provisional squad

Burundi national football team, ‘Les Hirondelles’ has named a provisional squad of 32 players ahead of the CECAFA Senior challenge cup that will take place in Kenya.

Head coach Olivier Niyungeko Alain included a host of U-20 players with the prime target of laying a foundational stone for CHAN 2018 qualifiers.

The team will be training thrice a week ahead of the regional championship that has been won by Uganda for a record times.

Kenya has been tipped to host the championship that will take place towards the end of November to early December 2016.

The provisional squad:

Goalkeepers: Nahimana Jonathan (Vital’O), Mutombo Fabien (Lydia Ludic), Nininahazwe Bievenue (Messenger Ngozi), Ndikuriyo Patient (Aigles Noirs), Rugumandiye Yvan (Musongati)

Central defenders: Suleyman Mustafa (Aigles Noirs), Moussa Omar, Ndizeye Samuel (Athletico Olympic), Nshimirimana David (Vital’O), Ndoriyobija Eric (Lydia Ludic)
Full backs: Nahimana Steve (Aigles Noirs), Guy Chancel, Harerimana Rashid Leon (Lydia Ludic), Kashindi Joseph (Inter Star), Nyandwi Innocent (Magara)

Defensive midfielders: Urasenga Cedric Danny (Messenger Ngozi), Ntirwaza Sudi (Musongati FC), Ndikumana Moussa (Athletico Olympic), Ndayishimiye Yousouf (Aigles Noirs), Mbirizi Eric (Bujumbura City), Uwimana Messo (Lydia Ludic)
