The Uganda national team set to represent the country at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships Kampala 2017 has already started preparations for the continental showpiece due March 26.
The team entered camp on Monday in Kapchorwa under head coach Benjamin Longiross and according to the IAAF Kampala media, they are accompanied by four other coaches that include Gordon Ahimbisibwe, Benjamin Njia, Francis Demayi and female coach Grace Chesang.
Several athletes have been training in their respective camps after the national cross country championships and will be heading to camp as they prepare to work on their speed and finalize other team works.
Kampala will be the fourth African city in the history of the IAAF World Cross Championships to host the tournament after Guiyang of China passed the baton in 2015.
The winner of the 2017 Kampala IAAF World Cross Country Championships will walk away with $30,000 (105 million Uganda Shillings).
