Despite unveiling eight new players on Friday, Police FC’s business in the transfer window remains unfinished.

This was revealed by Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru who confirmed that three more signings are targeted to close shop.

The ex-Proline, KCCA and Vipers Coach went further to reveal that Police will register only 23 players for the 2017-18 season.

“We are going to work with a squad of 23 players this season,” he said. “We feel they will be enough for us since we aren’t going to compete on the continent, our focus is only on the league and Uganda Cup,” the soft spoken coach added.

We have so far acquired 20 and negotiations are still underway with 3 more and if we get them probably by next week we shall be closing.

Although he remained silent on the particular targets, Kawowo Sports reliably reports that defensive midfielder Hakim Ssenkumba, a free agent after being released by KCCA and Gift Ali are the players in the picture.

With only two goalkeepers in Davis Mutebi and new recruit Simon Tamale, the club is also believed to be in talks with KCCA over a possible loan deal for Douglas Kisembo, their former goalie and Yasin Mugabi who spent half of last season at the club.
