Hawassa Football Club humiliated the record premier winners, St George to 4-1 loss in the Ethiopia Premier League.
Solomon Tafesse led the assault with a well taken brace on the day.
Firew Somon and Isreale Eshetu got the other goals.
This was one of the heaviest defeats suffered by St George in recent years.
Meanwhile, first choice goalkeeper Robert Odongkara did not complete the match following an injury in the 64th minute.
By the time of Odongkara’s injury, St George was two goals down.
The Ugandan might miss the first leg of their CAF Champions league first round encounter against Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club.
St George is now win-less in the previous two matches following a goal-less stalemate with table leaders Dedebit earlier in the week.
