After two days of negotiations, former Cranes Coach Bobby Williamson has agreed terms with Tusker Kenya Premier League side Gor Mahia FC.
According to the club’s official website, Gor Mahia FC General Secretary George Bwana has confirmed that K’Ogalo and Williamson have agreed a one year deal commencing on Tuesday 10th July 2013.
The Scot flew into the Nairobi early Thursday morning and has been meeting with the club management. “We are glad as a club to reveal that we have successfully engaged the services of Bobby Williamson as head coach,” said Bwana. “He will be officially taking over the role of the head coach on Tuesday next week on a one year contract.
Gor Mahia top job fell vacant three weeks ago after management sacked Croatian Coach Zdravko Logarusic.
“The management has been working round the clock since the post was declared vacant and we are proud to finally have a replacement in Bobby.
“He is widely experienced and we hope that he will be invaluable to our title league challenge. His strong past in youth training will also be critical in our setting up of a youth system.
“We are happy to welcome him at Gor Mahia”, Bwana concluded.
Williamson beat former Sports Club Victoria University Coach Ivan Zoric, Serbians Damilo Doncic, Momcilo Medic and Zoran Pefic, Irishman Amrore Oghenerwede Zion and Englishman Dave Booth to the job.
