Uganda Premier League debutant side, Lweza Football Club has confirmed the recruitment of former Uganda Cranes striker, Geofrey Sserunkuma and Nigerian born left back,Rafael Ono.

Moses Ssenyonga a.k.a ‘Jajja Moze’, a club official confirms the team signings;

We have signed the 3 players in the break to help our team perform better than we did in the opening round.

The development comes just days after confirming Hamza Kalanzi as the team head coach and signing winger Dan Wagaluka on a 6 month loan deal.

The trio makes Lweza F.C the first side to confirm more than 3 players in the mid-season transfer window.

Wagaluka was signed from Soana F.C as Sserunkuma, a former player for St George has been a free agent since returning from South Africa’s Bidvist University.

Nigerian born player, Rafael Ono, comfortable as a left back and Central defender was signed from Premier side, Levers United.

Sserunkuma snubbed an unofficial request from FUFA Big league side, The Saints F.C, where he trained for some days during the first round.

The changes imply the Kajjansi based outfit, who host their home fixtures at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku will have to drop 3 players from the team rooster submitted to the UPL secretariat.

Lweza F.C reasons otherwise as Ssenyonga clarifies;

We shall actually loan three players because these players we have signed are on a temporary basis.

Lweza F.C finished the league first round in 12th position with 17 points (same as army side, Simba).
